Marie-Ève Pineau

MEZZO-SOPRANO

Named a “young rising talent” by La Scena Musicale and described as “full of promise” by the opera journal L’Opéra, mezzo-soprano Marie-Ève Pineau has been praised for a refreshing stage presence: “our eyes are irresistibly drawn to her,” writes musicologist Marcelle Lessoil-Daelman, Ph.D.

The young Canadian lyric mezzo-soprano Marie-Ève Pineau is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Music Performance (Voice) at the Zurich University of the Arts in Switzerland, where she studies under the guidance of the acclaimed soprano Sarah Wegener. In 2025, she completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna, Austria, with soprano Alexandra Reinprecht.

In 2024, she appeared at the Wiener Staatsoper as a Naiadi in Claudio Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, conducted by Maestro Stefan Gottfried, in collaboration with the Concentus Musicus Wien, alongside singers such as Georg Nigl and Kate Lindsey. Her operatic engagements also include the role of Lady Hyberba and a cover of Queen Popotte in Jacques Offenbach’s Reise zum Mond (Le Voyage dans la Lune) at the Vienna Volksoper, under the batons of Maestro Alfred Eschwé and Maestro Roger Díaz-Cajamarca, over two consecutive seasons.
